Patricia M. Watson has been an attorney for
29 years. Her focus is in two areas: personal injury law and family mediation.
Many people today turn to
mediation and conciliation as a
means of resolving disputes. Pat has long been a conciliator for the
Massachusetts Superior Court, and is a member of the Massachusetts Council
on Family Mediation, the sole sanctioning body in Massachusetts for family
law mediators. Pat has received over 100 hours of training and skills
courses in the field of family mediation and divorce and
is one of only 24 family mediators in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to
be certified by the Massachusetts Council on Family Mediation.
Personal injury law has been Pat's primary interest since the beginning
of her career. After working with some of Boston's best known attorneys
and firms in the field, Pat and her family moved to Newburyport in 1980
and she has become one of the area's leading personal injury attorneys.
She has long devoted most of her time to representing injured persons in
Massachusetts. Her experience includes numerous trials, arbitrations, and
mediations, as well as hundreds of out of court settlements.
Pat's philosophy of litigation is that meticulous preparation of
your case is the best basis for settlement as well as trial. Her interest
in medicine makes her well suited to the field of accident law. Like all
matters at Watson & Watson, every personal injury case is personally
prepared by the responsible attorney. Your questions and problems will always
be heard by Pat, not by a busy paralegal, and she will answer your questions
address your concerns in a thoughtful and sensitive manner. Pat considers
her rapport with her clients to be one of the most rewarding aspects of
her practice.
Pat's experience includes cases both large and small. For example, in 1996
she obtained one of the largest reported personal injury settlements
of the year in Massachusetts (1.35 million dollars.) Not all settlements
can be that large, but every client Pat represents receives the same skilled
preparation and advocacy. Her cases include medical malpractice claims and
injuries caused by defective products, as well as automobile accidents cases,
pedestrian injuries, "slip and fall" cases, dog bite injuries,
and many others. She is particularly interested in cases involving injuries
to children.
